Post-Doctoral Research Visit F/M Modeling and simulation of the heart hemodynamics
The description of the offer below is in English.
Function: Post-Doctoral researcher
The objective of this research project is to develop a mathematical model and associated numerical methods for simulating the hemodynamics in the four chambers of the heart. The main motivation is to develop a simulation tool to model pathological scenarios, such as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), and to numerically assess different surgical options. This work will be carried out within the framework of the project.
The post-doctoral project proposes to address this problem via a kinematic uncoupling approach and a reduced modeling of valve dynamics. The external circulation will be modeled using a closed-loop lumped parameter model.
Main activities:
Candidates must hold a doctorate in applied mathematics, have an interest in biomedical applications, and some experience in the following fields: mathematical modeling, PDE discretization, finite element methods, fluid-structure interaction, and blood flow simulations.
Technical Skills: C/C++ programming skills are required.
Interpersonal skills: ability to work in a team.
Advantages:
