Post-doctoral Fellow for the High Pressure Crystallography beamline ID15B

The European Synchrotron, the ESRF, is an international research centre based in Grenoble, France.

You will participate in ongoing research programmes, operate the beamline, support external users as a local contact, and develop your own research exploiting the capabilities of the ID15B beamline.

ID15B focuses on structural properties of solids at high pressures using diamond anvil cells, with facilities for low and high temperature measurements, laser annealing, and advanced diffraction techniques. Research topics include crystal structures of polyhydrids, molecular systems, and phase diagrams of quantum systems.

Minimum Requirements
  • PhD in chemistry, physics, geophysics, or a related field obtained less than 3 years ago
  • Experience in X-ray diffraction and high-pressure diamond anvil cell experiments
  • Experience in crystallography and synchrotron radiation (desirable)
  • Ability to interact with multidisciplinary staff and users
  • Proficiency in English

Contract: 18 months, renewable for 6 to 18 months.
