Job Description:
R3 is the trade association for insolvency and restructuring professionals with over 3,000 members from across the profession, including insolvency practices, turnaround professionals, lawyers, and insurers.
With a strong reputation for policy and public affairs work that is well-regarded by members, the recent election provides an excellent opportunity to capitalize on strong foundations and achieve real change for the industry.
We are looking for a experienced policy/public affairs manager with demonstrable experience in a regulated industry. You will be responsible for leading all policy and public affairs workstreams, promoting and defending the reputation and interests of the restructuring and insolvency profession. You will also oversee the professional growth and development of the Public Affairs and Policy Officer.
Role remit:
- Manage the development of R3's policy positions, thought leadership output, and research through effective engagement with members and stakeholders.
- Communicate R3's policy positions to key decision makers (including parliamentarians, civil servants, regulators) and members to effect positive change for the restructuring and insolvency profession.
- Act as an ambassador for R3, promoting the value of membership and the work of R3 members to the UK economy.
- Ensure that the Policy and Public Affairs team operates in support of strategic priorities and corporate objectives.
Qualifications and experience needed:
- Demonstrable experience in driving policy/public affairs workstreams in a regulated environment.
- Experience engaging with politicians in Westminster and/or devolved parliaments, and other key stakeholders to influence policy.
- Experience leading the development of policy positions, thought leadership, and research.
- Proven ability to formulate responses to consultations and government policy changes.
- Experience managing public affairs campaigns to promote specific policies or legislative objectives.
- Capability to manage volunteer committees and working groups, including agenda setting and minute writing.
