We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC in Doha, Qatar for a :

Piping and Static Engineer
  • Drive an incident-free environment by establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure positive HSE performance by personnel, contractors, and others working under the guidance of the Lead Static.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, company standards, and procedures to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, and environmental responsibility.
  • Provide safe and efficient mechanical support on defined issues, contributing through expertise and knowledge as part of the Static team (Piping, valves & vessels), aligning with organizational objectives.
  • Review vendor offers for piping components, specialties, and valves; provide scope of work.
  • Prepare requisitions for quotations, technical bid evaluations, purchase specifications, and review/approve vendor drawings/documents for valves.
  • Assist inspection department in approving vendor documents/procedures like pressure tests, painting, welding, and packing & preservation.
  • Handle valve selections, analyze materials, trim options, and operators; devise solutions for actuator and valve applications based on process, cost, environment, and integrity considerations.
  • Review and approve datasheets, vendor offers, and documentation for valves and piping specialties.
  • Provide piping engineering support and troubleshooting assistance to other departments, including input for project concepts and design reviews.
  • Develop and maintain procedures to ensure safe and consistent piping design in compliance with internal guidelines, international standards, and industry practices.
  • Work on piping component selection, appraise piping systems, and devise solutions for design, material, environment, cost, and integrity issues.
  • Ensure pipe support philosophies and standards adhere to industry safety and integrity codes; approve and confirm design audits, safety, and reliability practices.
  • Provide technical and administrative support related to valves and PSV’s to site operations.
Profile

Ideally, you will have graduated with a minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND, or equivalent).

Relevant work experience: Minimum of 10 years, including at least 5 years offshore experience with on-field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.

You are fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Good interpersonal and organizational skills, computer literacy, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required.
