Job Description:

Role Definition

The Senior Methods Engineer for Pipeline Installation oversees the entire installation process, from procedure preparation to offshore operations.

He/She is responsible for delivering fit-for-purpose rigid pipeline installation engineering on projects or tenders, with a focus on safety and cost efficiency.

He/She may lead a team of installation engineers, handling various pipeline installation methods (e.g., S&J Lay) for a project or tender package.

The role reports to the Installation Engineering Lead – Pipeline Group and the Engineering Package Lead – Pipeline Group, managing daily operations and providing regular reports on project activities, technical issues, and resource management.

Overall Responsibilities:

1. Manage the technical aspects of an engineering team within projects/tenders.
2. Plan and oversee the scope of work for the team.
3. Coordinate with external (clients, subcontractors) and internal interfaces.
4. Serve as the technical reference for pipeline installation and contribute to subcontractor selection.
5. Participate in conceptual studies.
6. Develop installation procedures and ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
7. Support offshore operations, possibly including short offshore or on-yard periods.
8. Participate in engineer training and development.
9. Contribute to departmental knowledge consolidation.
10. Propose innovative solutions to reduce costs and risks.
