Role Definition

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

The installation senior Methods – Pipeline Group role involves managing the entire installation process, from procedure preparation to offshore operations.

This role is responsible for delivering fit-for-purpose rigid pipeline installation engineering on projects or tenders, with a focus on safety and cost-effectiveness of installation operations.

The person may lead a team of installation engineers, handling different pipeline installation methods (such as S&J Lay) for a project or tender package.

They are accountable to the installation engineering Lead – Pipeline Group and the Engineering Package Lead – Pipeline Group for the efficient daily management of the installation engineering team and must provide regular operational reports covering project engineering activities, technical issues, and resource management.

SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Overall Responsibilities:

• Manage technically an engineering team within projects/tenders.
• Be accountable for planning the scope of their team.
• Manage delegated external (clients, subcontractors) and internal interfaces (other disciplines, installation, SCM).
• Serve as a technical reference for pipeline installation and contribute to subcontractor selection.
• Be involved in conceptual studies.
• Perform installation procedures.
• Ensure installation procedures and related calculations comply with standards.
• Ensure project specifications and norms are respected.
• Support offshore operations, possibly with short offshore or yard periods.
• Participate actively in engineers' training and development.
• Contribute to PG department know-how consolidation.
• Propose innovative solutions to reduce costs and risks.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

5 to 10 years of experience in pipeline installation, with companies like SAIPEM, TFMC, Allseas, or equivalent.
