Current Recruitment: Sizewell B Outage

We are recruiting for the Sizewell B outage, with flexibility required as travel across various sites will be necessary to meet operational demands once the outage concludes.

You will have the opportunity to work across other EDF sites, including Dungeness B, Sizewell B, Hinkley Point B, Heysham 1, Heysham 2, Hartlepool, Torness, and Hunterston.

We offer a permanent contract, enabling seamless transition between outages. CTC clearance is required; however, Altrad will assist in facilitating this process.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Determine job requirements from drawings or specifications.
2. Select and cut stainless steel and carbon steel piping to required sizes using hacksaws, pipe cutters, or machines.
3. Prepare and position pipework and flanges for welding, ensuring proper alignment, gaps, spacing, and straightness.
4. Bend small bore piping with pipe bending machines.
5. Join metal piping through thread cutting and screwing.
6. Check pipe preparations, tack welded joints, alignment, and dimensional accuracy.
7. Install prefabricated sections on-site.
8. Operate necessary machinery, having completed relevant training.
9. Perform Firewatch/Standby duties as required.
10. Adhere to all safety protocols, including safety checks of tools and equipment.
11. Use oxy/fuel hand burning, heating, and cutting equipment.
12. Utilize all relevant workshop and site equipment, ensuring compliance with training and certification requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Approved Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 qualification.
• Previous experience in a similar environment.
