MRP-Global in Marseille is seeking a PHP/Laravel/Symfony Developer for a permanent role. The position requires 3 days on-site per week and reports to the Lead Developer. You will design, develop, modernise and maintain business-critical applications and APIs in a PHP environment.

You will build REST/GraphQL APIs, optimise MySQL/Oracle databases and implement secure APIs using OAuth2 and JWT. Docker, GitLab CI/CD and Azure cloud will be part of daily work in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional PHP development experience.
• Strong experience with Laravel and Symfony.
• Excellent REST API development and integration.
• Relational database expertise (MySQL and/or Oracle).
• Solid understanding of OOP, MVC, SOLID, PSR and DDD.
• Experience with Docker and GitLab CI/CD.
• Automated testing experience ( PHPUnit, Pest or equivalent ).
• API security knowledge (OAuth2, JWT).
• Event-driven architectures, Kafka or Redpanda knowledge.
• Cloud familiarity (Azure).
• Fluent English and French, both written and spoken.

PHP / Laravel / Symfony Developer required to join a high-performing technology team in a permanent position based in Marseille, with 3 days per week required on-site.

Reporting to the Lead Developer, you will play a key role in the design, development, modernisation and maintenance of business-critical applications and APIs within a PHP environment. You will work across new and existing solutions, contributing to technical improvements, integrations and the delivery of secure, scalable and reliable software.

You will be responsible for:

• Designing, developing and maintaining applications and APIs using PHP, Laravel and/or Symfony.
• Analysing requirements, investigating issues and delivering effective technical solutions.
• Designing and developing REST/GraphQL APIs and system integrations.
• Designing and optimising relational databases and complex SQL queries using MySQL and/or Oracle.
• Developing integrations, automation, batch processes and event-driven data flows.
• Contributing to legacy application modernisation, refactoring and technical debt reduction.
• Applying software engineering best practices including OOP, MVC, SOLID, PSR and DDD.
• Writing unit, integration and functional tests and supporting code reviews and documentation.
• Working with Docker, GitLab CI/CD and cloud environments such as Azure.
• Implementing secure APIs and authentication using technologies such as OAuth2 and JWT.
• Supporting deployments, production issues and ongoing application maintenance.
• Collaborating with DevOps, product and business teams in an Agile environment.
• Sharing knowledge and mentoring junior developers where required.
• Identifying opportunities to improve development processes, tooling, automation and code quality.
• Strong professional experience in PHP development, ideally 5+ years.
• Strong experience with Laravel and/or Symfony.
• Excellent REST API development and integration experience.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience, ideally MySQL and/or Oracle.
• Good understanding of OOP, MVC, SOLID, PSR and DDD principles.
• Experience with Docker and Git/GitLab, including CI/CD.
• Experience with automated testing using PHPUnit, Pest or equivalent.
• Experience with API security, including OAuth2 and JWT.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka or Redpanda.
• Experience working with legacy applications, refactoring and technical debt.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, ideally Azure.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English and French, both written and spoken.
