Job summary

Millennium Health is seeking a Full Time Specimen Collector Phlebotomist in Bon Air, VA. The role involves collecting blood, urine, and saliva samples, processing and shipping specimens, and acting as the liaison between clinics and our laboratory.

Ideal candidates are certified phlebotomists or have 1+ year field experience, with strong customer service and computer skills. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required; high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.

Qualifications

• Certified phlebotomist with 1+ year experience in the field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ months of specimen collector experience or 1+ years in medical field supporting patients.
• 2+ years of customer service experience can substitute medical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate a smart phone and computer.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Medical insurance/billing familiarity is a plus.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Physical requirements: sitting 60%, walking 20%, standing 20%, lifting up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient blood, urine and/or oral fluid specimens.
• Process and package collections for shipping.
• Serve as an intermediary between the practice/clinic and the laboratory.
• Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information.
• Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in ordering portal.
• Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite.
• Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens as applicable.
• Driving from/to multiple facilities may be required.
