The 3-year PhD contract is part of an ANR 'DynaMitoPatho' co-financing and 'MetabOptic' regional project in collaboration with Dr. Pierre Bon's laboratory (XLILM Research Center, Limoges). Recruitment will take place within the BioDynaMit laboratory located at IBGC-UMR5095.
The laboratory has a high level of expertise in cellular and mitochondrial energy metabolism, with equipment and animal models for studying mitochondrial metabolism in metabolic maintenance and cardiac pathophysiology.
The recruited person will work under Dr. Philippe Pasdois, an expert in cardiac energetics and mitochondrial function, in collaboration with Dr. Arnaud Mourier, an expert in mitochondrial genetic diseases and transgenic models.
The PhD project will focus on the role of mitochondrial dynamics and morphology in genome maintenance and cardiac disease. The candidate should have experience in managing transgenic murine lines and biochemical methods for mitochondrial analysis, including isolation, respiration assays, electrophoresis, spectroscopy, and microscopy.
The activities include genotyping, tissue collection, mitochondrial biochemistry, metabolomics, cardiac physiological measurements, and structural analysis of mitochondria.
Desired skills include a diploma in animal experimentation, proficiency in biochemical techniques, and good command of English (B2-C1 level).
Research Field: Biological sciences, Biological engineering
