Ph.D. Title: Batching and picker routing problems in warehouses taking into account human factors

This Ph.D. thesis deals with the modeling and solving of batching and routing problems in warehouses, considering human factors. Typically, these problems aim to minimize total traveled distance while satisfying customer orders. However, pickers face challenges such as painful picking operations and aisle congestion. The objectives of this thesis are to propose mathematical models that incorporate human factors into batching and routing problems and to develop efficient solutions.

Applicants must have a Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Sciences, Applied Mathematics, or related disciplines. Candidates should demonstrate strong programming skills and in-depth knowledge of combinatorial optimization and integer programming.
