Context:

The goal of robotics is to develop autonomous systems aiding humans in challenging tasks, especially in inaccessible environments. Drones (UAVs) are effective solutions due to their agility and speed. Despite progress, collaborative manipulation, payload capacity, endurance, and human-drone interaction require further development. Cooperative transportation using cables or tethers offers a flexible approach for large or heavy objects, demanding advanced planning and control algorithms. The work will be conducted at IRISA-CNRS in Rennes, focusing on multi-drone transportation of cable-suspended loads, perception, robust motion planning, and human-drone interaction.
