Inria Rennes is seeking a PhD candidate to explore local crowd simulation and authoring in augmented reality for large-scale event planning. The project emphasizes embodied on-site experiences, AR-driven interaction, and collaboration with partner teams.

The role combines research on crowd dynamics, AR interfaces, and usability evaluation, with strong programming requirements in C++/C# and experience in Unity or Unreal Engine. Teleworking may be possible after initial phase.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in C++/C# and graphics.
• Solid background in crowd simulation or VR/AR.
• Experience with Unity or Unreal Engine is beneficial.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

Responsabilités

• Develop local crowd authoring in AR for on-site use.
• Extend representations like Interaction Fields to infer local constraints.
• Evaluate usability and effectiveness of on-site authoring with real users.
