Job summary

CNRS's Laboratoire des Sciences des Procédés et des Matériaux (LSPM) seeks a PhD candidate to synthesize nanopowders and study their structure and properties using a broad set of analytical methods. The work includes in situ experiments at the SOLEIL synchrotron to uncover formation mechanisms of high-entropy oxide nanoparticles.

The successful candidate will contribute to the ANR JCJC NHEOCAT project, focusing on synthesis routes, structure-property relationships, and photocatalytic performance

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (M2) or equivalent in inorganic chemistry, materials chemistry, materials science, nanomaterials, or a related field.
  • Experience in synthesis and characterization of inorganic nanomaterials using liquid-phase methods.
  • Knowledge of high-entropy materials.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out synthesis of nanopowders in dedicated facilities using a synthesis reactor developed for the project.
  • Apply a range of characterization techniques including X-ray diffraction, total X-ray scattering, SEM and TEM, Raman and infrared spectroscopy, UV-Visible spectroscopy, and thermal analysis.
  • Collaborate on in situ multi-technique experiments at beamlines (SOLEIL DIFFABS) to study formation mechanisms and structure of synthesized materials.
