Association Bernard Gregory is seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to investigate GTPBP3/MTO1–mediated τm5U34 taurinomethylation, its role in mitochondrial translation and related diseases.

The project combines biochemistry, structural biology, and RNA biology, with access to cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography, and advanced facilities at Institut Pasteur and Synchrotron Soleil; supervision by Antoine Gedeon at Sorbonne Université; strong collaboration network.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in biochemistry, structural biology, or related field.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent English communication skills; anaerobic experimental experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Reconstitute the tRNA modification pathway in vitro to define catalytic steps.
• Determine the structural basis of enzyme cooperation using biophysical tools, X-ray crystallography, and cryo-EM.
• Analyze clinical variants with biochemical techniques and contribute to project deliverables.
