Qualifications

HOURS : Must be available to work rotating and varying Days, Evenings, a short week of nights and 1 in 5 weekends. 37.5 hours per week.

Position Overview

Good Shepherd is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Community Mental Health Worker - HOMES - McGinty House.

How You Will Make an Impact

In this role, you will work to make a difference in the lives of tenants living at McGinty House.

  • Provide tenants with primary case management and community resources.
  • Services to tenants include assessment & planning.
  • Provide crisis prevention and intervention and supportive counseling.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Good Shepherd mission values of Hospitality, Responsibility, Availability, Adaptability, Quality, and Dignity.
  • Participate in Good Shepherd's Health and Safety programs and work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act to minimize risk to clients, staff, and property.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

  • A post-secondary education in social or health services.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in mental health and concurrent disorders is required.
  • Recovery-oriented and consumer-driven style of practice is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and think creatively.
  • Ability to speak French and/or other languages is considered an asset.
  • CPR certification or willingness to be certified is required.
  • Commitment to anti-racist/anti-oppressive practice and to the mission and values of Good Shepherd.
  • Demonstrated understanding of workplace health and safety practices and responsibilities under current legislation.
