Job description:

At Sephora, beauty is about feeling seen, valued, and empowered, individually and collectively. It is connecting deeply with others, celebrating diversity and inclusivity, unlocking your potential and making a difference every day. Together, we belong to something beautiful.

Permanent Contract - FINANCIAL CONTROLLER (M/F/X)

Since its inception in 1969 in Limoges, France, and as part of the LVMH Group since 1997, Sephora has been disrupting the prestige beauty retail industry. Today, Sephora continues to break with convention to drive its mission: champion a world of inspiration and inclusion where everyone can celebrate their beauty.

With 56,000 employees in 35 countries, including 15,000 in Europe & Middle East we connect customers and beauty brands within the world’s most passionate beauty community. With a curation of nearly 500 brands, and our own label, Sephora Collection, we offer the most unique and diverse range of products: fragrances, makeup, hair care, skincare... and much more.

As part of the One Europe Sephora perimeter (currently encompassing 14 legal entities), you will support the region in close collaboration with the Senior Controller and under the supervision of the CFO.

You will excel and enjoy this position if you are ready to actively handle the following missions:

Actuals & Performance Monitoring

  • Lead the monthly closing process in coordination with local finance teams and CFOs, including monthly landing analysis, P&L variance commentary, reporting validation, and KPI clarification.
  • Monitor and analyze daily and weekly sales trends in partnership with the intern, covering key indicators such as sales performance, margins, discount rates, and other relevant KPIs.
  • Oversee regional CAPEX and project tracking, monitor the real estate calendar, validate CER assumptions, and ensure thorough post-opening P&L reviews.
  • Contribute to monthly management presentations (CODIR, GM Calls, CFO Calls, and finance retrospectives) alongside the intern and Senior Controller.
  • Conduct and support ad-hoc analyses as needed (e.g. S&OP meetings, margin impact from brand centralization, payroll FTE reclassification, store-level profitability reviews, CAPEX variance analysis, new store performance assessments, cash flow, and inventory results).
  • Maintain strong and effective communication between local markets and the regional office.
  • Collaborate across HQ departments to streamline processes and ensure clear, accurate financial communication with stakeholders.

Forecasting & Planning

  • Coordinate the forecasting cycles (R1, R2, Pre-Budget, Strategic Plan), ensuring alignment with EME regional guidelines and country-level timelines and targets.
  • Review and challenge forecast figures and variances with local teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making.
  • Support the development of presentation materials for regional and local financial reviews.

Projects & Transformation

  • Assist local finance teams with ongoing projects and system implementations (e.g., Power BI, Euphoria, 3S, SAP S/4HANA, PALMA).
  • Contribute to strengthening financial capabilities within regional and country teams.
  • Support or lead the development of white space projects as applicable.
