Qualifications

  • Masters-level qualified in Chemistry or Life Sciences.
  • EQE-qualified with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in drafting, filing, and prosecuting EPO and PCT applications.

Responsabilités

  • Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications in Europe.
  • Conduct patentability assessments and provide strategic advice.
  • Represent clients before Patent Offices.

Your Responsibilities

  • Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications in Europe and further afield
  • Conduct patentability assessments, freedom-to-operate analyses, and provide strategic advice to clients
  • Collaborating with research and development teams and tech transfer offices of corporate and academic clients, to identify and protect innovations
  • Representing clients before Patent Office(s) and the European Patent Office
  • Keeping up-to-date with changes in patent law and practice

Your Profile

  • Masters-level qualified in Chemistry or a Life Sciences field
  • EQE-qualified with at least 5 years of experience in the profession; additional national qualification(s) are desirable but not essential
  • Experience in chemical / biomed / biotech casework, drafting, filing and prosecuting EPO and PCT applications
  • Knowledge of EPO opposition and appeal procedures, contentious proceedings
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of an international team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional linguistic skills are desirable but not essential
