Job summary

Safe Place And Rape Crisis Center, Inc (SPARCC) in Florida seeks a part-time Shelter Resident Assistant to provide direct services to victims in the Shelter Program, respond to hotline calls, oversee residents, and support communal living.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong verbal and written communication, crisis intervention knowledge, and the ability to pass background checks and certifications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; experience in DV-related services preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and resources.
• Background check, work eligibility in the U.S., valid FL driver’s license.
• CPR/First Aid, CORE Competency Training, Victims Compensation certifications.
• Annual continuing education requirements (16 hours, 8 related to sexual assault).

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security protocols at Shelter at all times.
• Respond to hotline calls and document according to agency requirements.
• Provide intake services for residents and exit interviews.
• Assign resident duties for communal living, meals, and cleanup.
• Communicate with staff and maintain an activities log.
• Participate in trainings to meet certifications and education needs.
• Inform Director of activities in writing.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
