Access Services in Colmar, PA is hiring a Direct Support Professional to support attendees in a vocational day program. You will help develop soft skills, support daily activities, and promote independence while maintaining safety and wellbeing in a collaborative team setting.

The role requires driving capability, background checks, physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a commitment to individual rights. Comprehensive benefits and paid training are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of direct care experience with individuals with IDD preferred.
• Certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Community Participation Supports for DSP within six months of hire will be paid for by Access Services.

Responsibilities

• Provide reliable, consistent support to individuals in the day program.
• Assist with daily routines, including personal care and meals.
• Follow individualized support and health plans to ensure safety, wellbeing, and progress toward goals.
• Encourage independence, skill-building, and participation in meaningful activities.
• Create a respectful, supportive environment that promotes dignity and personal choice.
• Assist with transportation to and from programs and community activities.
• Collaborate with team members to meet individual needs.
• Observe and document progress, behaviors, or incidents in a timely, accurate manner.
• Communicate professionally with individuals, families, coworkers, and supervisors.
