Morgan Stanley Parametric in Paris seeks a Senior Physical Assets Portfolio Manager with 7+ years in replication. You'll lead equities replication programs, coordinate with funds and internal teams, and ensure efficient, compliant execution across markets.

The role requires deep knowledge of ETFs and derivatives, strong communication, and the ability to work across time zones. Hybrid work 3 days in-office, travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in finance/investments management.
  • 7+ years of experience in physical replication.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Deep understanding of cross-asset execution and ETFs.
  • Strong knowledge of the full investment workflow.

Responsabilités

  • Lead day-to-day management of equities physical replication programs.
  • Execute across equities, fixed income and FX markets; ETF vehicles.
  • Apply derivatives (futures, swaps, options) as required.
  • Develop and improve monitoring and reconciliation tools.
  • Coordinate with fund administrators, custodians, auditors and internal risk teams.
  • Prepare marketing and investment reporting.
  • Identify efficiencies and enhance risk controls in implementation.
  • Participate in onsite and external meetings; travel may be required.
  • Stay updated on market developments related to physical replication.

This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.

Parametric SAS is an asset management company of the Morgan Stanley Group which was set up in Paris and approved by the French Regulator “AMF” in 2006. It is expert at structuring and managing systematic investments solutions such as index and strategy funds, ETFs or structured funds with or without capital protection. Part of Morgan Stanley’s Investment Management division (MSIM), Parametric is committed to the creation of innovative investment solutions tailor‑made to the needs of investors.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Physical assets Portfolio Manager is a highly experienced investment professional with a 7+ years’ experience that has a deep understanding of the physical replication strategies and their executions. The candidate must demonstrate a proven expertise and track record in portfolio implementation, execution and post execution operations activities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
  • Lead the day-to-day management of equities physical replication programs.
  • Requires execution across multiple equities, fixed income and FX markets. Expertise in ETFs vehicles.
  • Experience in derivatives instruments execution (futures, swaps, options) is required.
  • Improvement & development of monitoring and reconciliation tools for the portfolios under management.
  • External coordination with the various funds’ stakeholders (Fund administrators, Valuation agent, Custodian, Trustee, Auditors) and internally (middle office, risk management and legal services)
  • Update of marketing & investment reporting.
  • Identify areas to improve efficiency and risk control throughout the implementation process, as well as ongoing daily risks mitigation (e.g. maintaining up-to-date procedures, self-reporting errors and following all trade approval checks).
  • Participate in onsite and external meetings (may require travel).
  • Stay current on market developments and related literature particularly as it pertains to physical replication strategies.
  • Organized and detail‑oriented, with strong emphasis on time management, ability to multi-task in a high‑pressure environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder management; excellent communication & influencing skills.
  • Ability to frame and communicate complex issues simply and concisely with various levels of management.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver on objectives with limited oversight.
  • Experience working in a role that requires establishment of strong working relationships across different time zones and cultures.
JOB OUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree in finance/ Investments Management.
  • 7+ years’ of experience in physical replication.
  • Fluency both oral and written in English
  • In-depth understanding of cross assets execution and ETFs.
  • Expert knowledge of entire investment workflow and associated trading strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate successfully with minimal oversight.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Exercises business judgement and demonstrates strategic thinking.Proven ability to multi-task and work effectively and collaboratively in a high paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to travel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Bloomberg.
