Job Description

Overview
MPH Mesquite Power, LLC is seeking an Outside Operator/Production Tech II (PT II) to work at the natural gas power plant (Plant) located in Paris, Texas. This position assists in the safe and efficient operation of the Plant and the supporting equipment and systems. The PT II carries out all routine water chemistry analysis, inspects and monitors operating components, and reports plant status. The individual will be trained and will complete the certification process to become a Control Room Operator within one year.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Understand and follow all safe work practices.
• Operate the Plant in compliance with all applicable laws and permits.
• Follow directions from the Production Leader and/or Production Tech I.
• Operate the Plant safely, reliably, and efficiently to meet production schedules, from outside the Control Room.
• Implement changes in Plant conditions and chemistry as directed.
• Operate the Plant according to technical specifications.
• Respond to normal and emergency Plant conditions.
• Perform Start-Ups and Shut-Downs of all Plant equipment, including the Combustion Turbine/Generators, HRSGs, and Steam Turbine/Generators, from outside the Control Room.
• Monitor the security of the Plant.
• Identify potential problems with Plant equipment and take necessary actions to prevent failures.
• Manage Safe to Work Permits, Lockout Tagout, and other safety permits.
• Conduct routine rounds, collect samples, and communicate/document findings.
• Follow Plant procedures.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Perform outage and maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a power plant or similar facility; Combined Cycle preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Physical requirements include working on feet for 12-hour shifts, climbing stairs and ladders, and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Work involves wearing protective equipment and working with hazardous materials.
• Position requires extended hours, varied shifts, and occasional weekend and holiday work.
• On-call status may be required periodically.
