Ensure Electrical Safety on site is well managed. Identify, apply, manage, and remove isolations on 66kV and 225kV equipment. Participate in hot commissioning and first energizations of all electrical network components. Control the electrical installation during work activities, ensuring safe execution of work activities on the project's electrical system. Witness contractor’s commissioning activities on 66kV and 225kV equipment.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Perform power system operations and maintenance.
- Investigate faults on site and inform the Control Engineer.
- Develop a strong and positive electrical QHSE culture.
- Ensure safe switching and operation of plant and equipment, including execution of work in accordance with established Electrical Safety Rules.
- Supervise and witness third-party commissioning activities on 66kV and 225kV systems.
- Ensure commissioning works adhere to established procedures, contracts, and project requirements concerning HSE, quality, planning, and budget.
- Promote a zero-harm HSE policy daily.
- Witness and oversee commissioning to demonstrate that equipment supplied by contractors functions correctly per contract and manuals.
- Implement best practices for commissioning scope within the technical department.
- Report progress and participate in commissioning meetings.
- Advise on resources, services, and tools needed for work, ensuring timely mobilization by contractors.
- Monitor electrical operational activities related to 66kV and 225kV for safety.
- Review and comment on RAMS and other relevant HSE, electrical safety, and commissioning documentation.
- Capture and transfer commissioning experience into asset operations.
- Manage electrical safety and commissioning documentation.
- Mentor junior SAPs and O&M technicians in HV switching operations.
- Control switching operations for safe, efficient network operation and work activities.
- Act as Electrical Safety Officer and Senior Authorized Person for switching decisions.
- Lead toolbox talks and asset inductions.
- Review and comment on FAT, HAT, SAT, SIT procedures; attend and coordinate these tests.
- Perform site walk-downs, pre-energization, post-energization, and inspections of electrical equipment.
- Issue inspection reports, walk-down reports, and daily progress reports.
- Review and comment on test reports, checklists, and related documentation.
- Ensure outstanding work is completed and quality issues are reported.
- Supervise resolution of punch list items and escalate issues as needed.
- Review work permits and RAMS related to high-voltage systems.
- Shadow contractor’s commissioning during first energization.
- Prepare, review, comment, and execute HV/MV switching schedules and perform switching activities.
- Apply and remove LOTO according to safety rules.
- Serve as on-site representative for the employer.
- Prepare end-of-shift reports, assist with cross-package activities, and transfer equipment to assets.
- Perform general maintenance and inspections of HV systems and support O&M when required.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience with high voltage network and equipment operation.
- Qualified and authorized to operate up to 225kV.
- Previous experience as Senior Authorized Person or in commissioning systems up to 225kV.
- Strong understanding of interlockings, control, and protection systems.
- Experience as HV SAP or HV commissioning engineer on offshore wind farms is advantageous.
- Excellent teamwork skills and ability to develop good relationships.
- Fluent in English; French is an advantage.
- GWO certifications: WaH, FF, FA, SS, MH.
- Offshore medical certificate.
- HTB certification according to NF C18-510 (obtainable after contract signing but before work start).
