Loft is seeking an experienced software engineer to join the Onboard Software group, building and maintaining Linux-based spacecraft software. You will own features, review code, and help ensure robustness across a distributed, containerized fleet.

Responsibilities include unit/integration testing, architectural input, and collaboration with downstream teams. Prior leadership experience and space systems familiarity are valued, with potential involvement in satellite operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years software engineering experience using C/C++ (C++11+) and Python.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience with continuous integration tools (GitLab-CI, Jenkins, or similar).
• Knowledge of build systems (Make, CMake).
• Understanding of distributed architecture.
• Experience in developing multi-threaded applications.
• Previous team leader or manager role.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, and refine software with ownership, delivering robust features from concept to production.
• Review code and enforce standards for consistency and quality across the codebase.
• Design and implement unit and integration tests for self and peer code.
• Use version control to create feature branches, push code, and merge into production branches.
• Contribute to onboard software architecture via design proposals and reviews.
• Help improve software development processes and design standards.
