Loft's Onboard Software group seeks an Onboard Software Engineer to develop and maintain deployment and runtime tooling for satellite missions. You will work across Linux services, container runtimes, and CI pipelines to ship reliable software in orbit.

You will engage with bundle management tooling, secure Linux deployment, and a containerized workload environment, driving features from concept to delivery while collaborating across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of containerization technologies and runtimes.
• Deep Linux system knowledge including boot process and service management.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab-CI, Jenkins, or similar).
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience with embedded or resource-constrained systems.
• Working Python proficiency.

Responsabilités

• Contribute to and evolve our bundle management tool, resolving dependencies and assembling software stacks.
• Develop and harden onboard Linux infrastructure for deployment and execution in orbit.
• Evolve the Runtime Container Environment, including base images and container registry services.
• Support scaling of the deployment pipeline as new hardware platforms are added.
• Contribute to Product Validation, ensuring software readiness before orbital deployment.
• Design, implement, and refine software with ownership from concept to delivery.
• Participate in code reviews and drive continuous improvement of development processes.
