DATTCO is currently searching for a temporary Operations Supervisor for our school bus team in Plainville, CT. The Operations Supervisor is a key role that coordinates and directs the daily activity of the terminal and is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of all drivers and vehicles.

DATTCO began providing school bus transportation in 1949 and currently services 30 school districts and Regional Education Service Centers throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for scheduling drivers and effectively dispatching fixed route service and charters
  • Assist drivers with directions and customer itineraries
  • Answer routine phone calls from the Board of Education, drivers and parents
  • Clerical, filing and reporting duties
  • Responsible for driver’s weekly payroll
  • Interview driver candidates for employment
  • Discipline drivers when necessary
  • Routing

Position Requirements:

  • Commercial driver's license (CDL) with P and S endorsements
  • At least one-year transportation experience preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Be flexible and a self-starter
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good customer and employee relations skills
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and computerized routing software
