Operations Lead

Job Description: Operations Manager at Willoway Nurseries

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead farm operations in alignment with the company's vision. The role involves strategic planning, standardization, resource management, and team leadership to ensure efficient farm functioning.

Responsibilities

1. Execute the farm's operational vision set by the Operations Manager.
2. Plan activities one month in advance.
3. Implement standardization and optimization practices, including SOP development and management.
4. Promote 5S principles across all farm activities.
5. Manage operational resources such as labor and equipment.
6. Facilitate communication between Operations Manager and Crew Leaders.
7. Collaborate with other departments to meet company, grower, and operational goals.
8. Optimize staff efficiency in farm operations.

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in horticulture, agriculture, or related fields.
• Knowledge of nursery plant maintenance, task flow optimization, and workload management.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Effective planning and task management.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Leadership and training capabilities.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work involves outdoor activities approximately 85% of the time, under all safe weather conditions.

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 7am - 4:30pm.
• Rotational weekends as needed.
• Spring hours may increase to 40-50 hours per week.
