Job Description: Operational and Commercial Director

Main Missions

The Operational and Commercial Director is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the subsidiary, ensuring its development, profitability, and growth in the French market.

  • Commercial and Strategic Development: Expand the client portfolio, strengthen the company’s market positioning, implement growth strategies, and drive commercial performance.
  • Operations Management and Optimization: Oversee on-site and workshop interventions, continuously improve procedures, and optimize resources and costs.
  • Team Management: Supervise field and commercial teams, develop skills, and provide employee training.
  • Ensure Profitability and Productivity: Monitor performance indicators, manage profit margins, and implement corrective actions.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Adhere to safety, quality, and environmental standards relevant to the industry.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Commercial Development:

  • Manage and prospect the client portfolio (including pharmaceutical, food, high-tech, aerospace industries, etc.).
  • Anticipate client needs and propose tailored solutions.
  • Manage commercial offers in coordination with technical teams and the workshop.
  • Participate in trade fairs and professional events to enhance company visibility.
  • Negotiate and finalize strategic contracts.

Operational Management:

  • Plan and coordinate on-site and workshop interventions.
  • Supervise resource management, including teams, products and equipment, vehicle fleet, logistics, and transport planning.
  • Manage project profitability indicators and integrate “change orders” into invoicing.
  • Continuously improve productivity and intervention procedures.

Management and Training:

  • Supervise intervention and commercial teams.
  • Implement a continuous training plan to ensure skill development and employee versatility.
  • Ensure proper application of safety procedures and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Commercial Development: Increased revenue, acquisition of new clients, retention of existing clients.
  • Project Profitability: Maintain a minimum operational margin of 30%.
  • Safety: Zero accidents on project sites.
  • Productivity: Cost optimization and continuous improvement of intervention processes.
  • Team Training and Engagement: Increased employee versatility and reduced turnover.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Experience and Education:

  • Higher education in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or Industrial Management.
  • Significant experience (minimum 5 years) in operational and commercial management, preferably in the pharmaceutical, food, or technology industries.
  • Knowledge of surface treatment and protection (a plus).
  • Experience in team management and project leadership.

Technical and Managerial Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Mastery of surface treatment processes and specialized equipment.
