A leading offshore project firm is seeking a Mechanical Work Preparator to support offshore mechanical activities in Saint Nazaire, France. This role involves reviewing punch list items, preparing technical documentation, and ensuring compliance with HSE standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, experience in industrial environments, and effective communication skills.
As part of offshore substation projects, we are looking for a Mechanical Work Preparator (technical assistance) to support the preparation of offshore mechanical activities, for the punch list phase after installation of both NOY and TRE OSS projects.
Specific mission :
On the N35 and O35 projects, a number of punch list items have been identified. The specific objectives of the mission will be to:
Review all punch list items and assess, with the support of the onshore team (punch list manager and package manager) and offshore team, whether the task responsibility and priority remain valid.
Follow up and update the punch list closure (Yellow and White remarks).
Prepare and formalize the required documentation for offshore mechanical works, including:
Ensure all documentation is accurate, consistent, and compliant with HSE and client requirements.
Provide technical support to offshore execution teams during the preparation phase.
Anticipate and address constraints related to safety, logistics, equipment, and planning.

Other technical documentation that may be needed for punch list activities
Duration: 3 months (extendable to 12 months). Termination notice: 1 week.

Location: Onshore – Saint Nazaire (France)
Technical Skills Required
Strong knowledge of industrial mechanics (mechanical equipment, crane, piping etc).
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
Proven experience in preparation of technical documentation (RAMS, TP, PTW).
Strong awareness of HSE standards and risk management.
Previous experience in offshore, shipbuilding, or oil & gas industries is a strong advantage.
Additional Skills
Written English is mandatory (all technical documentation will be drafted in English).
Strong organizational skills, rigor, and autonomy.
Effective communication and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
Proficiency in office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with collaborative platforms (SharePoint, GED, Teams) is appreciated.
Education: Technical degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in mechanics, methods, or industrial maintenance.
Experience: at least 3 years in an industrial environment; offshore / oil & gas / renewable energy background is a plus.
Personal qualities: autonomous, detail-oriented, structured, team player.
