A leading company in offshore energy production is seeking an Offshore Facilities Engineer to ensure effective management of production activities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in process design and safety management, ensuring optimal production reliability and efficiency. Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years in upstream/downstream process design, FPSO experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English at least B2 level (CEFR).
  • Medically fit to work offshore per company health requirements.

Background

The Offshore Facilities Engineer will demonstrate exemplary leadership, managerial, and safety behaviors, ensuring all aspects of production activity are conducted effectively and efficiently. The position is suited for personnel with offshore hydrocarbon process operations and management of change experience.

Authority

The Offshore Facilities Engineer assumes responsibility for the safety of the crew and vessel, as well as the operational aspects of production activities.

Immediate Subordinates

Visitors, vendor technicians, and subcontractors when applicable.

Responsibilities & Standards
  1. Providing technical support:
  • Act as technical focal point onboard for all production-related matters.
  • Support the production superintendent, offshore production team, and onshore teams for daily operations.
  • Assist in process optimization, plant trials, MoCs reporting, and troubleshooting to ensure safe, steady, and continuous production.
  • Support efforts to maximize uptime and key performance bonuses.
  • Maintain process capability at the highest practical level and minimize downtime.
  • Optimize surveillance and monitoring tools and processes.
  • Develop technical documentation as needed, such as P&ID mark-ups, procedures, and technical notes.
  • Improving production stabilization and reliability:
    • Review process design changes under the Management of Change process.
    • Define requirements for design changes and liaise with the MoC Engineer.
    • Keep process operation manuals current.
    • Support root cause analyses and recommend remedial actions.
    • Lead investigations for process incidents and share findings.
  • Supporting activities for production stabilization and reliability:
    • Support cross-checks of LO/LC registers.
    • Minimize instrument LTOs, control issues, and develop action plans.
    • Maximize control loop automation and alarm management.
    • Manage field markup documents and ensure proper handover to onshore teams.
    Pre-hire Qualifications and Experience
    • University degree, BSc or MSc in Chemical or Process Engineering.
    • Minimum 8 years in upstream/downstream process design; FPSO experience is a plus.
    • Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management.
    • Experience with process design tools.
    • Proficiency in English at least B2 level (CEFR).
    • Medically fit to work offshore per company health requirements.
