The recruitment of researchers with a strong commitment to the management of long-term observation systems for the universe and planet Earth is a major challenge for CNRS. As the leading player in research and observation for understanding global change, CNRS designs and manages numerous national and international research infrastructures supported by National Observation Services (SNO) accredited by INSU. The ONAGES CPJ offers a significant opportunity for CNRS to recruit scientific leaders to develop and supervise SNO and IR/IR* related to Universe and Earth observation, in collaboration with universities where CNAP researchers carry out their missions via the OSU.
This CPJ focuses on supporting IR/IR* such as ACTRIS, ICOS, and IAGOS, with an emphasis on atmospheric science research, particularly in tropospheric observation. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to develop programs exploiting available data and samples, both nationally and internationally, and develop innovative methods for data acquisition and analysis of tropospheric processes.
The project aims to coordinate research on the physics and chemistry of the troposphere, focusing on monitoring climate forcings and understanding the responses of the climate system. The successful candidate will contribute to long-term data acquisition and may develop new instruments and methods to enhance environmental monitoring.
The role includes approximately 42 hours of teaching, integrated with observation assignments at universities. CNRS promotes open science, aiming for accessible research results and data sharing, and values qualitative assessments of researchers' contributions. Dissemination will be through publications, patents, software, and engagement with the public and policymakers. The project emphasizes societal impact and participatory science initiatives.
Applicants must hold a doctorate or equivalent, with no restrictions on age or nationality. CNRS positions are inclusive and accessible to people with disabilities.
