Qualifications

Job Overview:

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Nurse Aide II performs a variety of basic patient care activities and related procedures in caring for the needs of the patients. He/She assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association only.
  • Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and demonstrated writing skills.
  • Proven track record of compassionate care & superior service and a commitment to providing healthcare excellence always.

Preferred:

  • At least one (1) year experience as a phlebotomist or EKG Technician with health care background. Current enrollment in health care training program as C.N.A. or PCT preferred
  • College degree preferred.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • BLS certification through American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Days 7:00AM - 3:00PM
  • Schedule during the week will vary depending on department needs
  • Per-Diem
  • 1 shift per week and 1 weekend shift per month
  • Mandatory Orientation

Essential Functions:

  • Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, B/P, height/weight and intake/output measurements accurately. Reports findings outside of normal range to RN
  • Provides assistance with ADL s to assigned patients
  • Provides assistance with the nutritional needs of patients, including feeding, mealtime assistance/set-up, supplying fluids, and delivering supplemental snacks
  • Lifts, moves, turns, and transports patients out of bed, chair, stretcher, wheelchair, portable mechanical lift, etc., maintaining proper body mechanics
  • Performs laboratory procedures as noted: venipuncture, EKG, GTT, blood culture, urine collection procedures and other laboratory procedures as directed by the Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrates the 4 C s of Commitment, Compassion, Competence, and Communication
