We are looking for a Nuclear Supplier Inspector with primary responsibilities including monitoring and verifying the manufacturing or requalification processes of our nuclear UD engine critical parts, ensuring compliance with our technical specifications, nuclear standards, and applicable regulations. The preferred location for this position is Mulhouse, France, but Surgères or Paris, France are also negotiable. We offer the possibility of hybrid remote work.

As a Nuclear Supplier Inspector, your work will include:
  1. Validating purchase orders by checking consistency and validity between technical data, quality data, and manufacturing requirements.
  2. Managing inspection schedules and coordinating all required inspection steps with suppliers and survey/inspection bodies.
  3. Performing inspections of nuclear spare parts and requalified equipment on supplier premises according to predefined inspection points.
  4. Ensuring manufacturing or control steps conform to purchase order and standards.
  5. Addressing deviations and liaising between suppliers, internal teams, and clients for resolution.
  6. Communicating inspection progress and results to relevant internal teams.
  7. Drafting detailed inspection reports.
  8. Participating in supplier inspection meetings and sharing expertise.

All activities are carried out in compliance with Wärtsilä’s Quality, Health, and Safety policies. The role involves travel of approximately 60-80%, mainly across Europe and France.

The tasks may be tailored based on your skills and interests. You will be part of an experienced and collaborative Suppliers Control team with diverse expertise.

Requirements:
  • Technical knowledge of rotating machines, mechanics, and engines.
  • Significant inspection experience in an industrial setting, preferably in nuclear, automotive, or aerospace sectors.
  • Knowledge of testing and non-destructive testing techniques.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and understand manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in English is essential.
  • Minimum degree of Bac+2.
Additional qualifications beneficial for success:
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and interest in ISO 19443 standards.
  • Ability to produce clear, documented reports.
  • Rigorous, precise, organized, autonomous, and collaborative attitude.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and preferably SAP.
  • Valid B driver’s license.
