Job Description

The VWT IT Connectivity team comprises skilled network professionals, including NetOps experts supporting our AWS Cloud network services using IaC and automation. The team thrives on collaboration, partnering with other IS&T teams to build, industrialize, monitor, and run network services within our service offering catalog.

Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day network operations, ensuring service availability and performance.
  • Manage and mentor a team of network engineers and technicians.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures and documentation.
  • Manage network monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Lead incident response and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Capacity planning and performance optimization.

Project Execution:

  • Plan and execute network infrastructure projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Collaborate with other teams on cross-functional strategic projects.
  • Manage vendor relationships for network hardware and services.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to the development of the team's technical roadmap.

Partner Management:

  • Oversee and manage relationships with key network service providers.
  • Ensure partners adhere to SLAs and performance metrics.

Security and Compliance:

  • Work closely with the security teams to build security policies.
  • Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations.

Regional Collaboration: Work closely with regional IT teams to ensure seamless network operations and project delivery.

Community Animation: Lead and animate the network community across regions, facilitating communication and knowledge sharing.

Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for network infrastructure, processes, and operational procedures.

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • Deep understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN).
  • 10+ years hands-on experience with network hardware and software (firewalls, routers, switches).
  • 7+ years experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages (Python, Ansible).
  • SASE Expertise: Experience with Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architecture and implementation.
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices.
  • Proven ability to contribute to RFP processes and evaluate vendor proposals.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent English language proficiency (written and spoken).
  • 10+ years of experience managing and mentoring technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with external partners and internal teams.
