Mooring Master — Lead Berthing & Marine Operations

Job summary

SBM Offshore is seeking a seasoned Mooring Master with extensive VLCC berthing experience to safely berth, moor and unmoor offload vessels. You will supervise the offload hose system, coordinate with vessel masters and cargo teams, and ensure compliance with Company procedures.

Requirements include STCW Master Mariner Unlimited with Oil Tanker Endorsement, tandem offload simulator training, English at CEFR B2, and minimum five years at sea.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years sea service on VLCCs with at least 3 years at the rank of Master.
• Proven three (3) years berthing experience as Mooring Master at open sea SPM berths or five (5) years as Port Pilot with twelve (12) berthing operations.
• STCW Master Mariner Unlimited with Oil Tanker Endorsement and tandem offload simulator training.
• Proficiency in English at a minimum of B2 level.

Responsibilities

• Assume complete authority for berthing, mooring and unmooring operations.
• Ensure readiness and maintenance of the offload hose system and tandem hawser system.
• Train staff in tandem offloading operations and coordinate with vessel masters and onshore teams.
• Support OIM with administration and planning of class and statutory surveys.
• Promote safety management and ensure timely close-out of audit actions.
