Description du poste

Monitoring Ductile Fracture Using Full Field Measurement Techniques to Build a Testing Database H / F

Subject

This internship focuses on using advanced full-field measurement techniques to monitor both material deformation and crack growth on test specimens, with the goal of building a reliable testing database for characterization of ductile fracture. A key aspect of the project is quantifying uncertainties, particularly those caused by measurement noise.

During this internship, you will:

  1. Perform full-field measurements on test specimens using Digital Image Correlation (DIC) to capture real-time, high-resolution data on deformation and crack propagation across the entire surface of the specimen.
  2. Extract displacement maps across the specimen surface to derive strain maps and analyze crack growth.
  3. Focus on managing uncertainties in the data by learning techniques to reduce the influence of measurement noise, including understanding noise sources such as equipment limitations and mitigation strategies.
  4. Work with data processing tools to filter, refine, and validate the experimental data, ensuring the final database accurately reflects the material's behavior.
Additional Information

This internship is a spin-off of the ESCALE project, which aims to develop a software sharepoint for material testing based on full-field measurements.

A PhD thesis on material characterization based on the data produced during this internship is scheduled as a continuation.
