Médecins sans Frontières recherche un membre de l'équipe de gestion de pays pour diriger le programme Watsan. Vous serez chargé de définir et de mettre en œuvre des stratégies pour améliorer les conditions de santé dans des contextes d'urgence, tout en collaborant avec des acteurs locaux. Qualifications

Responsabilités

Description du poste

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organization founded in 1971 that provides medical assistance to populations whose lives are threatened, mainly in contexts of armed conflict, epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. The French section operates in around thirty countries.

Main Purpose

As a member of the Country Management Team (CMT), responsible for defining, developing, and coordinating the Water, Hygiene, and Sanitation (Watsan) program in the mission according to MSF protocols, standards, and procedures to improve the health and living conditions of the target population, especially in contexts with a major Watsan program.

Accountabilities

• Define the Watsan strategy and monitoring system for the mission, ensuring integration into activities and operational priorities.
• Prepare annual Watsan plans and project reports, including budgets.
• Collaborate with CMT for quarterly reports to donors or local authorities.
• Conduct initial assessments or exploratory missions with medical teams to identify Watsan needs.
• Develop and lead appropriate Watsan responses, including in emergency scenarios.
• Create community participation strategies to improve Watsan practices, engaging local authorities and non-governmental actors.
• Coordinate operational research related to Watsan and contribute to institutional learning on emergency response and environmental health themes.
• Ensure availability of Watsan materials and equipment in collaboration with logistics and HQ.
• Implement centralized Watsan reporting systems, standards, and indicators, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency.
• Define and evaluate HR setup for the Watsan team, manage team staffing, training, and evaluation in collaboration with administration and CMT.

Education and Experience

• Academic background in engineering or relevant training.
• WHS in Emergencies training recommended.
• At least 2 years of professional Watsan experience, preferably within MSF.
• Experience in implementing activities such as water supply, waste management, vector control, etc., in various contexts.

Languages and Skills

• Proficiency in the mission's working language.
