Job Overview:

The Medical Scribe assists clinicians in the Emergency and Hospitalist Medicine Departments with documentation and follow-up on diagnostics, consults, and orders. This role enables clinicians to dedicate more time to patient interaction. It's an excellent entry-level opportunity for healthcare professionals to gain clinical experience working alongside MDs, NPs, and PAs.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma
• Completion of science or clinical coursework at the undergraduate level or above, or relevant work experience in a clinical setting (can be considered in lieu of coursework)
• Experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., scribe, technician, assistant, EMT), documented on resume

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree
• Excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Typing speed of 50 words per minute with error adjustment

Scheduling Requirements:

• Part-time shifts in Day (6:00am-6:00pm) or Night (7:00pm-10:00pm) rotations
• Shifts available 7 days a week, rotating through all scheduled start times
• Minimum one shift per week, at least 12 hours

Essential Functions:

• Transcribing clinician notes in patient rooms
• Listening and documenting patient care conversations
• Entering data into EMR
• Following up on missing information and diagnostics
• Communicating with external providers and labs

Pay Range: $17.6674/hour. Compensation depends on experience, education, and skills. Benefits are included in the total rewards package.
