A leading healthcare institution is seeking a Medical Laboratory Aide for a 7-month contract in Dublin, Ireland. The ideal candidate will possess previous experience in a hospital laboratory environment. Responsibilities include assisting with laboratory tasks, maintaining quality control, and supporting various departments in a renowned orthopaedic center. The National Orthopaedic Hospital at Cappagh (NOHC) is situated in Finglas, West Dublin. Established in 1908, we are the National Centre of Excellence in Orthopaedic Medicine, with over 600+ highly skilled staff, including 38 Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons. Each year, we treat more than 30,000 adult and paediatric patients expeditiously and efficiently. NOHC is home to: Adult Orthopaedic Services: providing same-day surgery and discharge for conditions including Total Hip and Knee Replacement.

Medical Laboratory Aide (MLA)
The ideal candidate would be a dynamic MLA with previous experience working in a hospital laboratory or science laboratory.
Qualifications for the post are stipulated by the Health Service Executive.
The National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh (NOHC) has 37 Orthopaedic Surgeons and is Ireland’s largest dedicated Orthopaedic centre, the national referral centre for post-prosthetic joint infections, Ireland’s primary referral centre for bone and soft tissue tumours, and the dedicated surgical centre for the National Sarcoma Service. NOHC also provides orthopaedic oncology, rehabilitation, rheumatology and paediatric services, and sports and exercise medicine.
The Blood Science & Blood Transfusion Departments at NOHC process approximately 120,000 & 26,000 tests annually and are accredited to ISO 15189:2022. The Blood Science & Blood Transfusion Departments also provide Pathology services to an external Private Hospital and are well equipped with technology/instrumentation; Winpath LIS, Beckman Coulter Au480, Beckman Coulter Access, Arkray, Radiometer ABL Flex 90, Cell Dyn Ruby, Sysmex, ACL Top, and IH500.
The Microbiology Department at NOHC processes approximately 30,000 samples per annum and is accredited to ISO 15189:2022. The Microbiology Department also provides Pathology services to an external Private Hospital, as well as, the National and Regional Bone Banks, and is licensed as a Tissue Establishment (2004/23/EC) by the Health Products Regulatory Authority.
