We support all AWS data centers, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment, ensuring continual access to our customers. Data Center Operations involves designing, installing, and maintaining large-scale cloud infrastructure. We seek skilled Data Center Technicians passionate about technology to help expand our cloud services. This role offers the opportunity to work in cutting-edge data centers, serving as a primary contact for internal and external customers, including network engineers, hardware vendors, and contractors.

We are expanding our Infrastructure Operations team and are looking for Data Center Media Technicians responsible for sanitization and liquidation of data center equipment. The role requires coordination across teams, technical aptitude, situational awareness, and excellent communication skills. Candidates should be process-oriented and capable of deploying improvements swiftly, operating effectively under pressure while adhering to data handling policies.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A working understanding of server hardware
  • A basic understanding of networking hardware
  • Problem-solving experience and customer service skills
  • The ability to lift up to 18 kg unassisted and participate in group lifts over 18 kg in tight spaces
  • Local travel within Paris, Île-de-France region

Key job responsibilities
  • Handling hard drives: installation, removal, destruction, and documentation via ticketing system
  • Unpacking/repacking electronics and relocating equipment
  • Removing/Installing networking equipment
  • Escalating issues to senior staff as needed
  • Performing data sanitization prior to liquidation or destruction
  • Managing asset lifecycle changes
  • Implementing process improvements and documenting inefficiencies
  • Interacting with vendors and contractors
  • Working in a 24x7 environment, including non-business hours and rotating shifts
  • Serving as the point of contact during high-severity events
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1+ years of hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate’s degree or higher in IT or 2+ years of IT experience
  • Progressive career growth in technical roles
  • Proficiency in professional communication
  • Experience managing work through ticketing systems and coordinating with management
  • Experience in root cause analysis for hardware issues
  • Alignment with Amazon’s Leadership Principles
