Job summary

Astemo Angers is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join our engineering team. You’ll contribute to the development of world-class braking and mobility solutions.

You will lead the design and validation of automotive disc brake components, collaborate with global suppliers, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5–10 years of experience are expected, with fluency in English and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years designing and developing mechanical components in automotive/high-volume industries.
• Strong knowledge of structural mechanics, fatigue, tribology, and material behavior.
• Experience with casting, forging, machining, stamping, heat treatment, coatings and assembly.
• Knowledge of tolerance analysis and robustness engineering for reliability.
• Familiarity with automotive development standards and safety-critical processes.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of automotive disc brake components from concept to serial production.
• Lead design reviews, including DFMEA, and drive DfM, DfA and DfR initiatives.
• Collaborate with suppliers for development and cost optimization.
• Support prototype builds, pilot production, and industrialization by solving issues.
• Define validation plans, investigate failures, perform root-cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards and customer requirements.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation and change records.
