Job summary

Astemo Angers is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to lead the design and development of automotive disc brake components from concept to serial production. You will drive DFMEA reviews, coordinate with suppliers, and support prototype builds and industrialization efforts.

The role requires a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering with 5–10 years of automotive design experience, strong tolerance analysis, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years designing and developing mechanical components for automotive or high-volume industries.
• Solid knowledge of structural mechanics, fatigue, tribology, wear, and material behavior.
• Experience with casting, forging, machining, stamping, heat treatment, coatings and assembly.
• Strong tolerance analysis and robustness engineering for reliability-driven development.
• Understanding of automotive development standards; safety-critical product experience is a plus.
• Experience with international suppliers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of automotive disc brake components from concept to serial production.
• Lead design reviews, including DFMEA, and set specs for DfM, DfA and DfR.
• Collaborate with suppliers for component development and cost optimization.
• Support prototype builds, pilot production and industrialization activities.
• Define validation plans, investigate failures, perform root cause analyses, implement CAPA.
• Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards and customer requirements.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation and change management records.
