Job summary

Harmattan AI is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to design and develop hardware and software powering automated testing platforms. You will work within the R&D team to create robust, scalable automation tools supporting product development and manufacturing operations, focusing on mechanical development for test automation and assisting software/electrical integration as needed.

You will collaborate with Automation Software Engineers and other teams to deliver reliable test systems for factory

Qualifications

MSc in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related engineering field.
Excellent CAD skills with SolidWorks, Catia or similar.
Experience working with external vendors and machine shops for part fabrication and test equipment selection.
Comfortable performing soldering, wiring, and small-scale electrical circuit work for test system integration.
Experience working with electronic assemblies (PCBAs); familiarity with pogo-pin / bed-of-nails fixturing is a strong plus.
Knowledge of RF housing design and specifications is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design practical, robust engineering solutions.
Excellent communication skills and proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Test Fixture Development – design, prototype, and maintain mechanical fixtures, jigs, and tooling.
Mechanical Integration – design integration of sensors, actuators, cameras into test stations with the automation team.
ATE Integration – specify and integrate custom solutions from external vendors for testing equipment.
Cross-Team Collaboration – work with product development, manufacturing, and deployment to deliver scalable automation solutions.
