France Bioimaging invites a Master student to join the CBS team in Montpellier for a 6-month internship focused on designing fluorescent sensors targeting GPCRs in the brain to visualize conformational dynamics.

The internship covers design, cloning, expression in mammalian cells, dye labeling, purification, and evaluation of sensors using single-molecule FRET, under supervision in a dynamic research environment.

The \"Biophysique Integrative des Membranes\" team at CBS in Montpellier is looking for a master student for a 6-months intership from early 2027. The student will have to design fluorescent sensors targetting G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) in the brain to visualize and analyze their conformational dynamics .

Missions

• Design and clone - Engineer receptor mutants by site-directed mutagenesis
• Express - Produce them in mammalian cells in culture
• Label - Attach fluorescent dyes at precise positions
• Purify - Isolate labeled receptors for in vitro measurements
• Watch them move - Screen your sensors by single-molecule FRET

Candidate profile

• Master student in biology, biophysics, biochemistry, chemistry or a related field
• Curious, hands-on, keen to learn something new
