Job summary

VOI Technology is seeking a Market Development Manager to build and manage relationships with city stakeholders and to grow the company’s footprint across markets. You will report to the General Manager and work with Policy, Operations and Growth teams to optimise performance and profitability at the city level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in business, economics, engineering or similar.
• Professional fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
• 3-5+ years of experience in policy, operations or strategy, as a consultant or in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience collaborating with external stakeholders, e.g. partners, government and media.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional projects taking multiple diverging stakeholder needs into account.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to a diverse audience.
• Good commercial sense and experience working with P&L, budgets, and business cases.
• Ability to work with analysis of large data sets using Google Sheets or Excel.

Responsibilities

• Guard city-level P&Ls and understand drivers of financial performance by city.
• Support tender activities to position VOI as the preferred micromobility partner for cities.
• Collaborate with Growth and Product teams on pricing and product strategy for growth and profitability.
• Identify and lead projects to drive change and optimisation.

YOUR MISSION AT VOI

As the Market Development Manager you will be accountable for building and managing the relationships with the city stakeholders, while working continuously to develop the operational and commercial performance in the specific region. In this role you will report directly to the General Manager and collaborate closely with the local Policy and Operations team and other central stakeholders to grow Voi’s footprint in existing- and new markets. This will include:

• Building strong relationships with key city stakeholders, leading events and contributing to initiatives in collaboration with the local Public Policy- and Partnerships teams to drive improved performance in line with city priorities, and increase our footprint across the market.
• Being the point of contact for the city stakeholders, ensuring contractual compliance, monitoring and implementing solutions that address city concerns and complaints funneled from our user support teams, and following up on impact.
• Leveraging data and analytics and working in close collaboration with the local operations team to optimise operational efficiency and performance.
• Guarding the city-level P&Ls and having a clear understanding of all the components and key drivers of the financial performance across each city.
• Where they exist, working closely with competitors operating in the same cities as us to strengthen footprint and compliance.
• Participating in pre-tender and tender work to ensure our position as the obvious choice for cities tendering micromobility services.
• Working closely with the central Growth- and Product teams on pricing- and product strategy to ensure we optimise for growth and profitability, while meeting the requirements and supporting the goals of the policy and city stakeholders.
• Continuously working to proactively spot opportunities for improvement and optimisation, and leading projects to drive the necessary change.

WHAT YOU NEED TO EMBARK

We’re looking for an analytical and structured business professional, with the ability to build and manage relationships with external stakeholders, and work proactively to strengthen our footprint in a fast- and dynamic industry. In addition to this, we believe the right person has:

• A Bachelor in business, economics, engineering or similar.
• Professional fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
• 3-5+ years of experience in policy, operations or strategy, as a consultant or in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience from collaborating and effectively managing external stakeholders, e.g. partners, government and media.
