Job summary

CMA CGM invites final-year engineering or master’s students to join its Performance Team in Marseille for a six-month end-of-studies internship. You will work with marine engineers, data scientists, developers and operational experts to build digital solutions that improve vessel performance, energy efficiency and equipment reliability.

You will analyze fleet data, develop Python/SQL analytics, apply Generative AI tools, and contribute to Smartship and Ship Digital Twin programs while gaining

Qualifications

• Final-year engineering student or Master's student in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Energy Engineering or related field.
• Good Python skills and basic to intermediate SQL
• Excellent command of Generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of marine propulsion, shipboard machinery and onboard electronic systems
• Knowledge of data visualization, machine learning or digital twins is a plus

Responsibilities

• Fleet data analysis: analyze vessel operational and technical data from sensors, monitoring systems, IoT devices and telemetry.
• Data & AI solutions: develop data-processing and analytics in Python and SQL; apply Generative AI tools to engineering analyses and knowledge management.
• Smartship & Ship Digital Twin: contribute to development programs in Smartship and Ship Digital Twin.
• Performance & reliability studies: support propulsion, machinery, fuel efficiency, emissions, equipment health studies and anomaly investigations.
• Reporting & collaboration: document findings and prepare reports, dashboards and presentations with engineers, data scientists, developers and operational experts
