Role Description

We are looking for a thought leader and technical expert in a specific vertical (e.g., Financial Services, Telecommunications) to join the CXO Advisory team. This fast-growing, globally dispersed team works in an exciting space with nearly limitless growth opportunities. Our team comprises experienced practitioners and experts who work directly with the C-Suite of our clients on application modernization and related strategies, while also collaborating with customer developers.

The Application Modernization Advisory team provides thought leadership and practical guidance for legacy modernization and application stack innovation. This includes a holistic view beyond database interactions, incorporating the full application stack and leveraging Generative AI for modernization and development challenges. The individual will engage with clients, evolve strategies, support sales efforts, develop training materials, and occasionally dive into code to provide technical direction. Excellent communication skills, including presentation abilities, are essential. Past experience in software development and management is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support executive sales conversations and develop sales materials
• Advise customers on modernization strategies and lead modernization pilots and programs
• Engage in technical discussions, including code, to ensure project success
• Collaborate across functions like sales, professional services, product, and marketing
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients and help drive business growth

Location

Remote in Europe, where MongoDB has an established entity.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 20+ years in a specific vertical (e.g., Financial Services, Telecommunications) with experience across multiple areas
• 15+ years in software development and architecture
• 10+ years in IT management, leading development teams
• Deep experience with database products, ETL tools, database modeling and design
• Experience transforming legacy environments (e.g., Mainframe, DB2, Oracle PL/SQL) to microservices
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Experience with scalable, distributed systems
• Knowledge of diverse data technologies (RDBMS, Java, NoSQL, etc.)
• Willingness to travel up to 50%
