CAMECA, a world leader in scientific instruments, is part of AMETEK, Inc. Our Paris-area unit seeks a Supply Chain Manager to define and implement procurement strategy, secure raw materials, and align delivery with production schedules.

You will lead a small team of planners and specialists across two countries, driving improvements in processes and ERP functionality. We expect a bachelor’s degree and at least six years in procurement or materials planning, with strong Excel and ERP experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Planning, or Materials Planning.
  • Master’s degree in supply chain management is an advantage.

Responsabilités

  • Ensure purchase orders are updated to reflect changes in requirements.
  • Manage supplier relationships to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and analyze supplier service levels.
  • Lead supplier action plans to achieve target service levels.
  • Develop and implement procurement and supply planning improvements.
  • Propose ERP system enhancements for procurement and supply planning.
  • Lead production meetings and coordinate with Purchasing and Production Planning.
  • Support and develop team members in evolving roles.

Reporting to the Global Operations Director, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for defining and implementing the procurement strategy. They ensure the availability of raw materials, components, and products required for the manufacture of customer orders, at the right time and in the right quantities. They also coordinate delivery and availability timelines with the relevant internal departments. The role involves managing a team of approximately five Supply Planners / Procurement Specialists.


Main responsibilities

Order Management and procurement Planning


  • Ensure that changes in requirements are accurately reflected and that purchase orders are updated accordingly;

  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure that requirements are fully understood and that delivery deadlines are met;

  • Monitor, evaluate, and analyze supplier service levels;

  • Develop and lead supplier action plans to achieve targeted service level objectives;

  • Analyze supply processes and identify, propose, and implement improvement initiatives;

  • Propose and implement ERP system enhancements related to the procurement and supply planning function;

  • Ensure the preparation of production meetings;

  • Ensure smooth and efficient coordination with related departments, particularly Purchasing, Production Planning

  • Lead ongoing and sustainable initiatives to improve all processes within their area of responsibility by eliminating inefficiencies, non-conformities, and non-value-added activities;

  • Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to the processes in which they and their team are involved.


Team Management


  • Make decisions, provide directions, and represent the team’s interests and perspectives at higher management levels when required;

  • Support team members (based in 2 countries) in resolving issues and challenges by collaborating closely with peers and cross-functional stakeholders;

  • Coach and develop team members in the evolution of their roles, responsibilities, and behaviors to enhance both their technical skills and professional competencies;

  • Communicate and promote the company's vision while recognizing team achievements, fostering employee development, engagement, and commitment.


Requirements

Education & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum), preferably in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; a master’s degree in supply chain management is an advantage;

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Planning, or Materials Planning function;

  • Experience in a low- to medium-volume manufacturing environment preferred;

  • Previous team management and leadership experience.


Professional Knowledge Required & Abilities


  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;

  • Proficiency in at least one ERP system; experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) is an advantage;

  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of logistics and supply chain processes, particularly MRP (Material Requirements Planning) principles and methodologies;

  • Ability to take a strategic perspective and effectively prioritize tasks and resources;

  • Ability to make sound and effective decisions in high-pressure situations;

  • Dynamic and proactive approach;

  • Able to work independently;

  • Take actions

  • Open-minded, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-marking, work quality, and to reduce costs

  • Able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs

  • Travel area: National & Europe, 20% of working time
