About the role

As a Manager - Large Capex Categories you will lead a category team to implement opportunities to improve cost, quality, delivery, and reliability to reach organizational goals. You will lead a category management team in Capex categories. You will take direction from GSCS Director - Large Capital Projects. Relationship skills are required to manage organizational needs, project timelines, and resource management to provide innovative solutions to meet our goals.

  • Location: Europe

  • Model of work: Hybrid, business trips up to 20% of your time

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 4 to 5 category managers responsible for several capital in fuels, and other departments.

  • Direct the segmentation of assign spend into category and subcategory groupings to create levers.

  • Lead the development of overall category strategies to meet organizational goals by improving Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while securing supply continuity through identifying and mitigating current and potential risks and opportunities in the category strategy.

  • Ensure the execution category strategy through preferred supplier list (PSL), “right-sizing” non-preferred suppliers, and rewarding preferred partners with business awards tied to Long Term Agreements (LTA) with year over year improvements in cost, delivery, quality, service, and profitability.

  • Lead important business reviews (SRM) with strategic suppliers to bring category strategy and completion of category goals.

  • Review presentations for supplier relationship management meetings, category strategies, risk mitigation proposals, 4-Blockers, and supplier/category gap analysis.

  • Create and execute a plan to deliver annual results against metrics of saving, payment terms, on-time delivery, risk mitigation including inflation, and other metrics as determined by Leadership.

Qualifications
  • Higher education in any field of Engineering/ Supply Chain

  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience and preferably within industries with large, complex engineering, procurement, and construction projects, with a focus on procurement

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in negotiations including RFI, RFP, RFQ and contract development.

  • Benchmarking, Market Analysis, Competitive Intelligence, and Procurement Projects Management skills

  • Experience with vendor management including purchase order issuance, execution, and administration.

  • Gather, analyze and draw conclusions from quantitative data.

  • Ability to cultivate teams to drive operational excellence.

  • Push for daily continuous improvement in standard work, talent development, and risk mitigation to exceed organizational goals.

  • Must be creative and have prioritizing and planning skills.

  • Maintain long term productive relationship with suppliers (SRM)

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Project ERP system or similar system experience in a global environment is beneficial (SAP & Ariba)
