Otis Elevator Co. in Fribourg, Switzerland seeks an EHS Leader to head the national EHS team from HQ Fribourg with a hybrid work setup. You will ensure compliance with Swiss safety regulations and drive strategies to reduce accidents and illnesses.

You will report to the Senior Director EHS Central Europe, collaborate across borders, mentor managers, travel about 50% within Switzerland, and actively shape safety culture and KPI reporting.

Qualifications

• University degree in a technical field or Swiss EHS diploma.
• Qualification in occupational health & safety (e.g., ASGS Specialist, SiBe).
• Proven experience in EHS/occupational safety, preferably in industry.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss safety regulations (UVG, EKAS 6508).
• EKAS-recognized certification is an advantage.
• Experience with SUVA and regulatory authorities desired.
• Strong leadership, communication and assertiveness skills.
• Fluent German and English; French knowledge preferred.

Your Responsibilities

• Advise leadership and collaborate closely with authorities and internal stakeholders
• Manage training concepts and deliver EHS-related training programs for managers, employees, and subcontractors
• Analyze incidents and derive sustainable corrective and preventive actions
• Oversee EHS reporting and KPI management

Your Profile

• University degree (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent qualification, such as a Swiss EHS diploma, complemented by several years of relevant professional experience
• Qualification in occupational health & safety (e.g., ASGS Specialist, SiBe, or equivalent)
• Proven experience in EHS / occupational safety, ideally in an industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of Swiss safety regulations (UVG, EKAS 6508)
• EKAS-recognized certification is an advantage
• Experience working with SUVA and regulatory authorities is desirable
• Strong leadership, communication, and assertiveness skills
• Languages: Fluent German and English, and ideally good knowledge of French
• Willingness to travel within Switzerland (approximately 50%)
